Wine Tasting Notes:
ONLY 3 BOTTLES LEFT.
The estate’s 2004 Brut Premier Cru Grand Cellier Rubis is an intense, layered wine blessed with a veritable kaleidoscope of aromas and flavors that emerge from the glass. This eloquent Champagne is only showing a hint of its potential. Today it remains focused and chiseled, with plenty of bright fruit and what looks like a long, promising future. The wine needs few years on the cork to come together, but it will be sublime, especially at the dinner table. Disgorged: May, 2009. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2024
Proprietor Laurent Champs makes some of the most elegant, refined wines in Champagne. All of the wines are aged in oak ranging from large, neutral casks to small barriques, some of which are new for the top selections. Few producers have been able to find such impeccable balance using oak. A hint of Ramonet here, a suggestion of Leflaive there....simply put, these are majestic wines that no one who loves fine Champagne will want to be without.
