Domaine Constant-Duquesnoy is the realisation of a dream for Belgian businessman; Gerard Constant.
In 2004 and after many years of searching, he teamed up with Denise Duquesnoy and purchased the Vinsobres vineyards of Domaine 'Les Ausselons'. The 10 hectares of prestigious, mostly terraced vineyards of which 7 hectares are classed under the new AoC Vinsobres) sit between 250 and 400 meters above sea level with a south east aspect. The soil is both stoney and calcareous thanks to a complementing mix of limestone pebble stone with red marl from the late Miocene and Peyrosol coming from old Alluvial terraces.
Planted with 65% Grenache and 35% Syrah with vines ageing between 6 and 50 years old (planted just after the great frost of 1956)
Renowned Rhone Oenolog; Philippe Cambie is consultant at the domaine. "This estate, formerly called the Domaine Les Aussellons, was a terrific discovery last year when I tasted one of their wines. They have produced two remarkable wines in 2007 as well as a very strong effort in the more challenging vintage of 2008. - Robert Parker, Oct 2009.
